PETZLIFE

I used to use Leba but PETZLIFE decided to try PetzLife because it was less expensive and found that it also works better than Leba. My dogs are ~70 lbs each so each gets 5 squirts instead of Leba's 2 squirts but my dogs don't mind the extra squirts (just squirt fast!), the cost per application is still cheaper, and bottom line is that it works. It works as long as the spray gets in their mouth but sometimes I try to spray it on the teeth that show more buildup (especially those way in the back) PETZLIFE and have seen those get cleaner too. I used to brush their teeth but got lazy. I bet brushing once in a while with a dry brush (no toothpaste) would get their teeth even cleaner!

GREENIES

I have been using Greenies for years, including the older formula that reportedly had digestion problems. However, we never have had any problems with Greenies. Just make sure you get the appropriate size for your dog. I have never seen a dog that could resist a Greenie. They will start doing tricks never seen before once you bring them into the house. They do help with their breath, teeth cleaning and training and weuse them as "well earned" treats (they aren't the cheapest thing in the Greenies treat world). I just ordered 4, 27 oz. tubs of the Teenies (we have Papillons) and I know our dogs will enjoy every one of them. Never have to worry about our dogs getting fat eating these as we do not give them multiple times a day. The new formula reportedly has solved the digestibility problem and the manufacturer claims is now more digestible than normal dog food. In the original formula, the problem usually involved incidents when dogs just tried to swallow them whole or get it down in 2 bites. Our dogs always chewed them into small pieces avoiding any problems. Believe me, your dogs will love them.

CHLORHEXIDINE

I've been buying this for CHLORHEXIDINE several years to use to treat or prevent various mild skin infections both on my dog and myself. It is very mild and extremely effective. It can even be used around the mouth to prevent bad breath and prevent infections in the jowls or gums.

If you read the label of the Hibi_clens bottle CHLORHEXIDINE at your local drug store, you'll notice that this chemical is the same thing, only about one-fourth as expensive. (By law, chemical ingredients must meet the same specifications, regarless of their source, so the notion that the same chemical works differently when it comes from a vet or a drug store or a vet supply is incorrect. It may be possible that the chemical supplied by the vet was 4% solution instead of 2%, however.

ZYMOX

I have 3 dogs. They ZYMOX all have had their share of ears infections that always made for a trip to the vet at the cost of $95 plus the cost of $28 for an anti-biotic ointment for the ear. My one dog is a Coon Hound/Lab mix and had to actually have an $800 operation on his ear because the infection in his ear would not clear up. ZYMOX Even though we do all the ear maintenance as prescribed to prevent ear infections, this dog usually has at least 6 ear infections per year and the vet costs for each infection. We are not wealthy people. I bought Zymox Otic with 1% hydrocortisone for the first time in October because it looked like the one dog was going to need the other ear operated on and we did not have the money. I cannot tell you that I was totally shocked when his ear cleared up within 2 days using Zymox. I know my vet would never use Zymox or recommend it because he would probably go bankrupt. He used to be a great vet who really cared but them he stopped caring and started looking at his practice as a business so I know he would find something negative to say. There were absolutely no side effects from Zymox I am so happy that I found this stuff. Try it if your dog has any problems with ear infections. You will be pleasantly surprised.

BORIC ACID POWDER

About 4 years ago I have BORIC ACID POWDER gotten a strange ear infection, which would hurt slightly, and the skin in my ears would flake a bit, but no other symptoms. For the longest time I did not know what it was, meanwhile the infection got worst, and started to bother me a lot more. Doctors told me it is all in my imagination. Then I started to have sinus headaches, only I did not know that at the time, since I never before had a sinus infection or headache. When a strange orange mucus started coming out BORIC ACID POWDER of my nose, I was diagnosed with a sinus infection and given ten days of antibiotics. This cleared up the mucus but I still felt all of my old symptoms. I was told that it will go away. It did not. It started to get worst again. And again I have got antibiotics. Now for six weeks. I took the pills until my ears started to ring, but the symptoms did not go away. This repeated several times. I have visited an ENT three times. I have got a CAT scan, they did not find anything except a slightly deviated septum which they offered to correct surgically. I a have spent a lot of $$$ on doctor visits, with no results. Eventually my life became one big non stop sinus infection. The smell was the most bothersome. Sinus headaches are as bad as migraines.

Now after 4 years, and a lot of research, I know, from reading the works of reputable medical professionals, that a chronic sinus infection is fungal in 90% of the cases. This is why antibiotics never worked.

Since I could not convince my doctor to treat me for a fungal infection, even though at this time I had fungal infection all over my ears and even on my face I have decided to try boric acid.

I have used 1 teaspoon of boric acid for 250mL of water and added 1/4 teaspoon of KOSHER salt. I used a squizee bottle to wash my sinuses and ears with the solution. My infection was under control within a week. I washed my sinuses for two weeks twice a day, and for two weeks once a day. Now I am using it once a week.

You got to be careful not to swallow any of the liquid, and to drink a lot of water to remove any boric acid which gets in. But otherwise this has been a pain free and completely successful treatment. It will work for bacterial infections too, since boric acid is an all around antiseptic.

For me this stuff was a life saver. Good stuff. Tried and tested for medical use.

PS. I am definitely changing my doctor, 4 years without a proper diagnosis is way too much.
