I am male user NIOXIN SYSTEM 2 and have been using Nioxin since 2005 every other days or every three days. I wasn't really balding or have thinning hair when I was 26, but read it has natural bio-nutrient and was more expensive than other brands. So I bought the shampoo and conditioner package at SuperCut. It wasn't called System 2 back then, but had the DHT claim.Once I hit the age of 31, my hair started getting thinner, and I can see more gaps between the hairline. I have a hard time spiking my hair up now, since I can see the early stage of balding. While at all these years I still using Nioxin, in-between with Head & Shoulder for dandruff. I don't think Nioxin can do anything for male balding pattern if you have severe balding in your genes. It might work for women who are losing their hair because they used too much hairspray that over time build up and stop their NIOXIN SYSTEM 2 hair from growing. Which these build up can be cleanse away, but not if you got DHT acting. Overall, I do think it cleans my head very well and I really have no built-up.
I am ordering my second set of shampoo and conditioner as a preventive measure, but believe once the balding gene kicks in, Nioxin can't do a thing. The two bottles of shampoo and conditioner do last a while. I have use other hair product like Garnier Fructis Haircare Weightless Leave-In Anti-Frizz Serum, Sleek & Shine 5.1 fl oz (150 ml) to get thicker hair, but it doesn't really work either. The gene is too powerful. 3.5 stars.
